6 Simple Agility Skating Drills

By Enio Sacilotto, Assistant Coach of the Victoria Royals & President of International Hockey Camps

Coaches and players are always looking for individual drills that can be executed after practice or at an open ice session. Agility in hockey is the ability to move your body from one area to another very quickly. These six drills are excellent for working on agility with and without the puck and they can be performed with or without a coach. Remember one thing, push yourself past your comfort zone, FULL speed.

Drill 1 - Mohawk D-Man Pivots

Drill 2 - Quick Turns Agility

Drill 3 - Fast Feet Quick Shot

Drill 4, 5, & 6 - Stop Pivots, Circle Agility, & Pylon Escapes
